Skip the long lines at your coffee shop and make a Caramel Brûlée Latte at home! A double shot of espresso combined with homemade caramel brûlée sauce and steamed milk is topped with whipped cream, extra caramel sauce and crushed hard caramel candies. Yields 1 drink but can easily be doubled to serve more.

When your daughter comes home from college craving a caramel brûlée latte, you find a way to make her one. Or is it just me?

It was a team effort as she ran to the store to get some ingredients while I tested out caramel recipes. I tested this out a few times until we found a winner. It was rough 😉.

So What Is A Caramel Brûlée Latte?

My recipe is an at home version of a seasonal Starbucks classic warm beverage. It consists of a homemade, toasty and rich caramel brûlée sauce, strongly brewed espresso and steamed milk (I use half & half). It’s served topped with whipped cream, an extra drizzle of caramel and topped with crushed hard caramel candies.

To Make This Caramel Brûlée Latte You Will Need:

  • caramel brûlée sauceLends a toasty caramel flavor.
  • espressoBrew a strong double shot of espresso which is roughly 6 ounces or use strong brewed coffee.
  • half and halfOr other milk that steams and froths well.
  • whipped creamThis is optional but adds a festive creamy touch.
  • hard caramel candies (crushed) – Like Werther’s Originals.

Pour 2/3 cup of half & half, whole milk or other milk that steams and froths well into a steamer/frother. My Keurig (linked in recipe) does both, heating and frothing. Alternatively you can use a frothing whisk to warm milk, whipping it until foamy.

What Is The Best Milks For Frothing?

The best milk for frothing is heavy cream, half & half, whole milk, oat milk (try barista blend!), almond milk, coconut milk and soy milk.

What is Half & half?

Half & half is commonly found in the dairy section of most American grocery stores. It is equal parts whole milk and heavy cream.

Top with whipped cream, extra caramel brûlée sauce and crushed hard caramel candies. I like to use Werther’s Original Candies. Simply add to a resealable bag and use the flat side of a meat tenderizer to crush.

Serve. Sip. And Enjoy!
